About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To make my own path, not follow one

ABOUT ME

I recently turned 21 - I consider myself to be adventurous, I'm not too unintelligent, but I didn't enjoy school that much. I'm definitely quite a nerd: reading, writing, video games, movies, all that good stuff! Although I have my serious times (don't we all?), I am pretty fun and light-hearted. While I was growing up, I was set on becoming a famous movie actress - that was my dream. That dream has sailed off somewhere in an ocean of reality. So the dream has morphed and changed and we'll see where this crazy thing called life will take me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've just started out on C.S, I haven't surfed or hosted yet, but I planned to be more involved in the future! :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Again, haven't been a part of couch-surfing much yet, but I am looking forward to future trips and experiences

Interests

I love people, I love music - I love the artistry of a good book or a good movie. I enjoy nerding out with others who enjoy the same books or movies or music that I do, but I also enjoy talking about the differences of tastes or interests that I may have with others. For a long time as I was growing up, I wanted to be a film actress. It was my dream and it fueled me like no other motivation. But over the course of a few years and a few heartbreaks, my dream has changed. I still have a fondness for acting, but I don't believe that I will be good enough to succeed in it like I had once dreamed. My dream now is to be my own boss and owner of a small cafe - something chic and hispster, but a nice slow place where one can escape from a busy life and find a little nice piece of relaxation for their homework or a book or just a place to sit and be mellow. I've never been good at schooling, but I need to get some classes in so I can start my way toward having my own cafe!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One thing I always think of when asked about a memory when I felt amazed - and that was what we called CFS of my ninth grade year. CFS stands for Cultural Field Studies and it was a yearly trip that grades 5-12 did at the school that I went to in Nairobi, Kenya. We would have a week where we left the city we lived in and would travel to more rural places of Kenya, staying with locals and experiencing the life they led. Many of the CFS'es would have some sorts of service projects, like building a dam or helping take food to some people who needed help. My ninth grade year I went to CFS in a town called Kawethi (well, actually I think Kawethi was the region). And it was a fun CFS, normal, but what was so incredible, what I will never forget, were the stars. Out there in the Kenyan bush the stars were so vivid and seemed so close. There were thousands upon thousands and thousands more - it was the most stunning sky I have ever seen. Me and a couple other friends of mine laid on the roof-rack of the tall bus we had rode in on and we stared at the starry sky for hours, it felt like. We talked quietly, almost reverently, because we were so stunned and amazed by the stars. They made me feel small, but it wasn't a scary or sad small, just very little compared to the miles that were suspended out above and around me. The sky of Kawethi is one sight I would love to see again.
