About Me

I'm currently living in SF working on a deep learning startup. I like exploring new places and going on bizarre adventures. In my spare time, I read Nabokov, write poetry, have solo Kanye dance parties, teach myself to code, and listen to NPR podcasts (This American Life, anyone?).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

New to this, but I travel a lot and couchsurfing seems like a great way to meet friends. I've stayed in hostels while backpacking before and became super close with some of the people I met.

Interests

I'm a typical liberal arts geek: I love fiction, photography, art, film, you name it. I probably watch more movies than you do. I also grew up camping/hiking, so I enjoy everything outdoorsy. I'm also an adrenaline junkie--if it's fun and won't kill me, I'm probably willing to do it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once spent an entire summer working my way through Modern Library's Best 100 Novels list?

Teach, Learn, Share

Did you know that Lil Wayne is the most amazing lyricist of our times, giving the world gems like "real Gs move in silence like lasagna," "I got through that sentence like a subject and a predicate," "all hail Weezy, call it bad weather," "pushed a nun in a wheelchair, call that Virgin Mobile," and "all about my riches, my name should be Richard?"

Now you do.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm polite and friendly. Also I have a few things I'm unusually obsessed with:
1) Russian literature. I will discuss Mikhail Bulgakov with you for hours. I can recite the first chapter of Lolita. My dog is named after Tolstoy.
2) Rap. I am a very serious Kanye fan. If you need someone who knows every single lyric off of MBDTF, I'm your girl. If you deal with every single life problem by listening to Young Thug, we should probably be friends.
3) Politics. Wow, this is actually super embarrassing to admit and not at all an useful life skill, but I spend a lot of time reading about the U.S. election cycle.
