ABOUT ME

I love to learn, perform, laugh and enagage with those around me. I aim to be present in all things and taste the day with a new palette. My primary focus is to launch into every wave, even though my swimming skills do not surpass that of an orangutan! I am a big fan a coincidences and letting them happen.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music-Portshead, Nina Simone, Tom Waits, Karen Dalton, Patti Smith, Cat Power, Leonard Cohen, Pixies, Dr. Dog, Sarah Vaughan, Neil Young, Nick Cave, Bonnie Prince Billy.... to name a few!

Films directed by Coen brothers (The Big Lebowski, No Country for Old Men), Wild at Heart (David Lynch), Melancholia (Lars von Trier), Little Fish (Rowan Woods), Fight Club (David Fincher) are all amazing!

I enjoy reading a mixture of history, thrillers, sci-fi, garbage fiction and not garbage fiction.... Our favourite authors include Cormac McCarthy, Toni Morrison, Truman Capote, Bret Easton Ellis, Albert Camus, George Orwell, Anthony Burgess, and John Steinbeck.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Fortescue Bay, Tasmania- After an hour of whale singing, we witnessed a pod of whales swimming below the cliff we were walking along. Full body breaching, lobtailing, flipper slapping and water donuts!

Cape Range Nat. Park, Western Australia- Watching a loggerhead turtle haul her body ashore and nest her eggs under a full moon.

Teach, Learn, Share

AVA: I sing and play the violin (know the basics) and can share the secrets of the diaphragm and lifting the soft palate! I am also vegan and love to cook, I get really excited about food and love sharing recipes with others.
