HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Mostly I surf, but sometimes I also host.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

For me this is a closest thing to utopia that actually works, and I love it:)

Interests

I am interested in a lot of things, so it is hard to name them all. But for example, "a lot" includes these things: first of all - people, cinema (especially, the Middle East cinema), traveling, reading books, music, philosophy, different cultures.

Music, Movies, and Books

I adore movies! They can grab me out of the real world and drop to another kind of reality. Especially I like Tarantino's, Kusturica's, Hitchcock's works. Some of my favourites are: Layla (Dariush Mehrjui), Close-up (Abbas Kiarostami), Mean Streets (M. Scorsese), Reservoir Dogs (Q. Tarantino), Underground (E. Kusturica), The Dreamers (B. Bertolucci), La Legenda del pianista sull'oceano (G. Tornatore), Vertigo (A. Hitchcock).
Also, just some time ago I started to collect old movies, those with Humphrey Bogart, Cary Grant, Katherine Hepburn, Ingrid Bergman, Gregory Peck, Peter Lorre and so on.
I cannot imagine my world without music.I love Queen, Doors, G. Bregovic, Modena City Ramblers, Bob Dylan,Haogy Carmichael, but, of course, everything depeds on the mood.
And I really like to read. Few years ago I decided to expand my world of literature and venture outside the Western canon. So at the moment I reading around the world - authors from Uganda, Kenya, Palestine, Indonesia and everywhere else where I travel.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living for 3 months in Beit Jibrin refugee camp in Palestine. Hitchhiking to Paris and back. No, roadtrip around Iran. Or maybe taking part in organizing the African culture festival, or watching the sunrise on the Moses mountain... Well, quite a lot of things, and I hope there will be much more in the future.
