Overview
About Me
Hey there; I'm an artist on a mission to learn some languages and something about the world! I've been trying to get fluent for years and finally opened my life enough for the opportunity to travel indefinitely accross Europe and beyond.
I'm a vegetarian (mostly vegan), dancer, and explorer at heart. I love the earth and all it has to offer; although I don't wish to pursue environmental work, I have no doubt it will come through in any type of career and general lifestyle I lead. I love a many practices that connect the mind and body, most notably, yoga and meditation . I've been practicing yoga for 5 years and just completed a ten day silent meditation retreat in the Vipassana tradition. I've studied all types of religions and healing and consider this another of my passions.
I love a good, long cafe sit, and hope to meet some people here that do too.
Cheers,
Avery
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
In college, I struggled to find what I wanted to study (and who I was, of course), ending up with Environmental Studies as my focus but wishing I had pursued Art History/Studio Art. Art History and making Fine Art are both beautiful subjects which I wish to explore further! This is one of the reasons I want to see a lot of Art and Architecture while I'm in Europe and the Middle East.
I've had various jobs all over my country and travelled already to many places in the world, including studying abroad in Thailand for 5 months.
Most recently I worked for Sotheby's Auction House in NYC, but moved away to pursure traveling and fluency in languages. I'd love to meet some locals in the next few months, and would hopefully see them in my neck of the woods where they'd be free to stay anytime.
