About Me

I'm an American living in London and playing rugby for the Saracens currently. I just graduated from university in the States with a BA in Geology and decided to come play rugby internationally. I'll be Across the Pond for the winter and spring and I'm looking for the occasional travel opportunity in-season, as well as the chance to get out of London once the season is over in January. I love adventure; traveling and meeting new folks. I'm very into all sorts of outdoor activities as I guide whitewater rafting trips back home in Colorado over the summer months. I love children and animals (both pets and the working kind, especially horses!), and have experience with taking care of both. I would love to meet yours! I've done workaway as well as wwoofing before, and I'm very excited to meet more wonderful hosts from around the world!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like meeting good natured, open-minded folks, which Couchsurfing seems to attract. And I want to see the world!

Specifically for this year:
Once my rugby season is over towards the end of January, I want to get out of the hustle and bustle of London. My first thought is to head to the Alps and ski for a month or so, as that's been a lifelong dream of mine. Would love to find a job and stay longer, but at least this way I'll have a starting base to find a hostel or some other form of accommodation so I don't end up lost in the snow somewhere! If not skiing, I still want to travel elsewhere and see more of the UK or Europe. Gotta feed that travel bug to keep it happy ;)

Interests

All things outdoors and adventure! I have really rather eclectic interests. I love rugby and whitewater. Reading. Painting. Cooking. Riding motorcycles. Skiing. Geology. Good food and alcohol. Playing the piano somewhat tolerably. Traveling and meeting new folks. Really, I could go on for a while.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like just about any kind of music. Favorites would be Florence and the Machine, Metric, and Modest Mouse to name a few.

I love to curl up with a good book. Favorite genre is fantasy (Golden Compass, anyone?), but so long as it's well written I'll read just about anything.

Movies are totally mood-dependent, but a good fall back for me is Pride and Prejudice. What can I say.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm currently on the USA Raft Racing team. We're competing in Indonesia come December. I love, love, love my teammates and the whitewater we get to experience together.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can show you Colorado food recipes. Share tales of adventure. Give advice on travel in the USA. I can teach English as best as I can.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Cooking, whether that's recipes from home or tasty ones I've picked up along the way. Good company and conversation. Help around the house or with various projects. Care for animals or plants.
