About Me
CURRENT MISSION
EXPLODE! ...and wear sunglasses at night.
ABOUT ME
A reformed misanthrope, a know-it-all, and a do-it-yourself-er. I'll invest all sorts of time and energy in something that I could easily just have purchased from a store, if only to see how its done.
PHILOSOPHY
"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects." (not my words but suitable enough)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
You can sleep on my couch. I may ask to sleep on yours. I only ask that you bring stories to share. That's why you host strangers, pick up hitchhikers, and engage in random interactions. Everyone has a good story to tell, even if it has to be embellished a little bit. Its a small price to pay, and you'll probably get a free meal out of it.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I hosted a guy taking a long distance bike trip, surfed Providence and Toledo, and surfed a few places in Germany on my bike trip there. I've hosteled quite a bit, and since living in a housing coop have stayed at coops around the country. Most of my personal travel has been to places with friends who would lend a couch. UPDATE: I couchsurfed with some awesome folks in Providence, RI. Go there. Tres Bien! UPDATE: I couchsurfed with some awesome folks in Toldeo, OH and in Griefswald, Rostock, and Hamburg Germany! Sehr Gut!

Music, Movies, and Books
I dig science fiction. If you do too, you may recognize my prior plagiarism. I like rock-n-roll of all types, klezmer, swing, jazz, and others; though my favorite groups are the Beatles and the Cracow Klezmer Band. Movies are great, but why stick with one genre. Hold the romantic comedies please. I'll stick with corn syrup.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
As teenager, I once rode on the hood of a speeding automobile on winding country roads. Amazing? Foolish more likely. I don't recommend it. I've seen the fog part from a mountain top, and looked out upon the dazzling white tops of the clouds.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach bread making, yogurt making, beer making , basic electronics, basic bicycle repair, read sheet music, how to rewire an electric outlet, how to cook (sort of), all about electricity, math, physics
