ABOUT ME

My name, Aviva, is hebrew which means spring time. Many people have asked if I am Jewish or from the Middle East, but I'm neither. To be honest my parents were hippies and decided to name me a unique name which none of my childhood friends could pronounce. Even though I considered it legal child abuse at the time, I have grown to love it. This example and many other anomalies like it, describe me in a nut shell.

My parents, a humanitarian and an activist, ended up raising a for profit business woman. The jury is still deciding how that exactly happened after the countless rallies and protests I attended growing up. I've lived in 10 different cities, three overseas, so when asked where I was raised or where I am from becomes is a difficult question to answer.

A consequence of my upbringing, I have a insatiable desire to connect and learn about all types of people and perspectives. This is a thirst that only grows the more I try to quench it.
