About Me

I am a new Canadian couchsurfer. I live in a mid-sized Canadian city where I work in city planning. I love spending time with friends, walking my dog, creating art, watching theatre and learning languages.

If you stay with me, there is a dog that will be around. He will bark at first, but if you give him treats he will be your best friend! And I have plenty of treats on hand.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My favorite part of traveling has always been the people I meet. Couchsurfing is the perfect way to meet others and to have new and unique experiences. I offer a couch for fellow surfers every chance I get, and I hope to meet many more as I travel myself!

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite music is indie, many types of rock, jazz, and swing. However, I seem to most often listen to Broadway soundtracks.

I really like movies that are clever/genre-twisting, no matter the type.

I love to read. My all-time favorite has always been The Giver by Lois Lowry, and I love books that give me something new to think about.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Along with many surfers, I have also "hosted" several foster dogs :) I love to help animals, and I love dogs a lot. It is always amazing and I love all of them. After 8 dogs, the 9th stole my heart and I adopted him permanently. I continue to foster even after adopting, so I'll be sure to let you know if you'll be bunking with TWO dogs during your stay!

Teach, Learn, Share

The rarest and unique thing that exists on earth at this moment is the billions of other people sharing the planet. What are the odds that we would be here, at this exact point in time, with each other? Time separates us from people in the past and in the future that we don't even have a remote chance of meeting. But right now, against all odds, we are together.

I think it is so important to meet and get to know people. We don't last long, and every single one has the potential to have an amazing impact on your life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I bring an enthusiasm for exploring, a kind word and smile, and my unique Canadian outlook. I am so thankful to all of the hosts, and love to share my traveling experiences with new people.
