ABOUT ME

I'm a really friendly dude. I will talk to anyone. I get that from my grandmother. I grew up in New Bedford, Massachusetts - past residents include: Fredrick Douglass, Herman Melville, Denzel Washington's character from the movie Glory. New Bedford was the richest city in the world at the height of the whaling industry. Lots of good Portuguese food and good people. I owe a lot of who I am to New Bedford. I went to college at UMass Amherst and graduated with a degree in Psychology/Neuroscience. I took a year off, lived in New Bedford and now I'm in Philadelphia for graduate school at Drexel School of Public Health where I'll be getting my MPH in Community Health. I also have to mention that I really dig music and I talk about it a lot.

PHILOSOPHY

I haven't really figured out what my personal philosophy is yet. It's a huge part of why I'm in graduate school and finally living on my own. I still have to figure it out. My plan is to become a doctor but I really have to figure out who I am before I attempt to help others.

I'm down to meet some new people and possibly once I get an air mattress, host some people as well.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have none but a good friend of mine has recommended it to me for the last year. She has had a good deal of success and lots of positive experiences from being a surfer. I also met a young CS woman traveling the US while I was in LA. She was incredible and I figured I had to give this thing a try.

Music, Movies, and Books

I really like music and there is way too much to list. I listen to a lot of Beatles, Bob Dylan and the Black Keys. I also love James Brown, old Kings of Leon (first two albums - I listen to these albums a lot), Van Morrison (what a crazy dude) and My Morning Jacket. My friends are also in a band from my home town called Lesser Knowns. They have shown me what Rock and Roll means.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've traveled to Machu Picchu and to California. I've also been to Italy and Israel. I lived in Santiago, Chile for a summer and had the most wonderful experience with the family I lived with. I really appreciated the culture and their emphasis on family.

I want to learn Chinese and I want to travel to Europe next summer.
