Overview
About Me
I am an excitable person, outgoing and energetic. I am passionate about Social Justice, Indigenous politics in Canada and abroad, and Nerdy Stuff (video games, D&D, board games, etc.)
I'm actively a part of multiple groups and organizations in Vancouver. Outside of my full time job I volunteer at 2-3 organizations, I attend political events and Union rallies, and I like to go for craft beer and good food too!
I cycle to work everyday, play in an Adult Dodgeball League, and love all kinds of phyiscal sports and activites. I have learned Swing Dancing for 4 years (I am a little rusty right now), but am also learning and performing Traditional Métis Jigging (ask what its like!)
That's a few things I'm into... :P
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have solo backpacked across Asia, Canada, Europe, and a few countries in Middle and South America. I realize that the most memorable and genuine experiences have been with those people that live where I am traveling. As I traveled my goal is to respect and sensitive to the culture and people where I travel. I hope that most of these experiences happened because people felt respected by me.
In the same way, I want to offer that to people who travel to Vancouver! I would love to share my knowledge and experience in Vancouver. Depending on your style that could include History, Indigenous Culture, Food & Beer, Cycling, Beaches, Hiking etc etc etc
I want to continue to meet travelers and new people abroad while I cozy up at home.
Hint read my profile before you request
Vancouver is expensive. I hope to relieve some of this pressure on travelers as they experience the city.

What I Can Share with Hosts
I want to give you a REAL and TRUE experience of Vancouver and Canada.
I am not going to sugar coat anything or make you feel like a tourist. If we go to the Steam Clock; I'm going to tell you it was built in 1977. If you want to go to Stanley Park; I'll tell you that working class Hawaiian immigrants and Indigenous people were evicted. If you want to go to the Mountains; I'm going to tell you where the First Nations territory (Squamish, Musqueam, and Tseil-Waututh) starts and stops.
I want people to have a better understanding of Vancouver and Canada after they visit. Canada is an amazing country, but we have a long way to go.
HOWEVER, I still know some the best Craft Beer, Restaurants, Sushi, Coffee, Parks, Viewpoints, and Local Hangouts in the city... Don't think I'm boring just because I'm political. :P
I have access to a carshare. We can cost share on trips or hikes that would be super fun. Including hot springs, beautiful hikes, island hopping, or checking out local lakes.
