I am living in Munich in Germany. As a professional I am working for an insurance company in the IT department, currently responsible for developing processes in a database for financial reporting. Sounds boring ? That is the reaction I often see in faces ( or maybe it is just ignorance) and then the conversation stops... I can tell you it is very interesting work and logical thinking is needed in the same amount as your creativity and your communication skills.
If you will not see me in the office, you will probably find me on a mediation cushion or yoga mat. Yoga got me, in many different ways: to improve my physical fitness, to learn to see things easy going, as an attitude towards life to live healthy and aware, and as an fascination of what inner world may be possible following what big yogis described. They way on an of the yoga mat is stony (as we say in german), with many ups and downs. But if you started, you do not want to miss it.
My second passion is cooking. I am living since 5 years as a vegetarian and also learned to cook after the decision to become vegetarian. My cookbooks are even mostly vegan. Currently I often cook from a vegan Indian cookbook, which I really love. I also started to get interest in the culinary specialities of the countries I traveled.
Sometimes this means just online research of the great delicious dishes I have eaten abroad. But I also made experience for example in a balinese guesthouse kitchen, where I learned to smoke tofu in banana leaves.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to travel to Iran with my partner next month. And inspired from travelers, who already visited this country and also from the book "Couchsurfing in Iran", I will not miss to dive deeper into the iranian culture, which may not be possible if you just stay in hotels and visit the big sites on your own.
I want to meet people. Listen to their stories and tell mine. And share some good time!
