About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Opening my home to another run of couch surfers:-D I'm so excited!!!!
ABOUT ME
I'm always open to new things and people and willing to try to understand different opinions and ways of life.
I like long conversations that teach me new a new perspective. I love to forget of everyday life and go partying. And I love to hang out with people and just enjoy the moment. Ahh - and sometimes when I'm not occupied by enjoying life, partying or talking to people I'm studying mechanical engeneering at the technical university in Dresden, do my laundry or go shopping...like everybody does:-D
visited 17 states (7.55%)
PHILOSOPHY
I know it sounds a little trashy and I'm not always successful with it but for me my personal slogan is and stays: carpe diem. And I love the qoute from HIMYM: It's gonna be legen.....wait for it....dary, because it is just optimistic!:-D
Why do I live my life?
First because my mom gave birth to me and my dad obviously did his part good as well, but enough joking:-P
I guess I live my life to do good, because it is satisfying to do good things to people and to live in a community you love and that loves you, too?!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We just started hosting in our flat. Felix my flat mate showed CS to me and I found it incredible!
I've been couchsurfing in New Zealand before and found it to be an invaluable enriching experience, that brings people closer together, is a great way of cultural exchange and definately enhances your language skills. :)
But with couchsurfing.org it is just so much easier! Love it!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've been couch surfing several times during I was backpacking New Zealand in 2011.
We (my friend Martin and I) had a van we normally slept in, when we were exploring the country side.
From time to time we met locals and often they invited us to stay at their places for the night or longer.
Never before I experienced such a great will of giving help and getting to know strangers.
The greatest and one of the first couch surfing experiences I made, was near Queenstown(NZ). We were doing our laundry and because we had not enough money, or didn't want to spend money on the dry cleaning, we decided to dry our clothes at a close lake on a line among a couple of trees. Just when we finished hanging those wet t-shirts and socks on the line, it started raining.... Good approach.... poor implementation:-P
Than something unexpected happened. An old man with an old school bus, he rebuilt so he could live in, arrived and after he saw us hectically packing up, he asked us, pointing on our laundry: "Hey fellas, I got an oven in my bus, do you want to dry those?" We had one of the greatest days this day, sitting and chatting with this funny guy in his bus, eating sandwiches and drinking tea, while the rain was pouring down.
Overall I learned so much about other cultures and MY OWN as well, because you kinda need to know different ways of living life to be able to compare them and to be sure of what you like...don't you?!
Couch surfing kind of changed my life a little.
That's why I want to be a part of CS
I want to be open minded, get to know different thoughts and less prejudge people or opinions, before I get to know them;-)
