About Me

I'm a child arts therapist, experienced startup founder (now advisor), and founder mental health specialist. I also work as a freelance video editor and I like to make documentaries and other creative projects when I have the time.

I work on myself a lot, staying as physically and mentally healthy as I can. I meditate daily and try to keep myself tuned into what's true and what matters. But at the same time, I try not to get too deep into things and I like to keep things light and accepting. I like to watch sports on TV, mostly football and comedy. I'm particularly keen to get involved in musical projects at the moment; particularly singing and songwriting. I don't play any instruments but I'm keen to learn.

In bullet-points, my interests are...

- Buddhism
- Nature
- Innovation
- Entrepreneurship
- Music
- Film
- Comedy
- Arts (theatre etc.)
- Sports
- Meeting great people
- And so many more.

I'm happy to jump on a video call to chat and get to know each other before committing to anything, please just message me, thanks.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've recently started a job as an art therapist for a school in Hampstead, but for the summer holidays (July & August) I won't be paid, so I'm looking for somewhere to stay in those months ideally. If not before. I'm also keen to find more work, so I'd like to take some financial pressure off myself whilst I put my energy into this. And it's always great to meet new, interesting people. I'm happy to help around the house etc too.

Interests

My Buddhist path is an interesting one; I started by doing retreats with the centre in Bethnal Green, and now I've moved into studying different Buddhist traditions and trying to find my truth, and what resonates with me within it all. Ultimately I find the original teachings of the Buddha to be really inspiring and eye-opening, particularly in what I see as a very "distracted", "conditioned" world.

I love to feel connected with nature, that's important to me, so I often go for walks and I like to live near open spaces if I can.

As an entrepreneur, I'm a natural innovator, and I love to bounce around ideas with other people, especially if they are ideas to try and make the world a better place.

Music means so much to me, I like all kinds, I DJ a bit myself, and I enjoy some 5 Rhythms dances etc, I aspire to train to teach it some day. I recently discovered an artist called Ren, who is blowing me away musically! I think he is incredible.

Film has the potential to connect with and move me, I recently was wowed by 'Roma' which I hadn't seen before. I love that style, where things feel so real and authentic, but there is a deeper message coming through the imagery and sub-plots etc. I like to analyse movies, and all art-forms for that matter.

Comedy lifts me out of my thinking mind a lot, I love UK comedians like Steve Coogan, Peter Kaye, Ricky Gervis, Tim Key etc. I try to get to Edinburgh fringe most years to dive into discovering and supporting new acts.

As a sports fan, I like to play sports and watch them, I'm a Spurs fan, and I can be a bit obsessive with it (it runs in the family), but I try to keep it balanced and not to get too emotional about it!
