About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To boldly go where no man has gone before. So help me Spock!

ABOUT ME

Talkative, kind, true, and thoughtful. Not a serial killer, not rude, not crude. Constantly trying to learn and to dig deeper into the truths of this universe -and any additional parallel ones. Communicate with me, dear traveller; I want to hear your story!

PHILOSOPHY

Live, love, travel, learn, CREATE, communicate, understand, share, respect, co-exist.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Will be your personal tour-guide in Athens.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In the past I showed Jessica around Athens, took her on a ride on a motorcycle, went to listen to some music that a dj girlfriend was playing in Exarhia, visited a belly dance bar, ordered a water pipe with apple-flavoured smoke. Yes. We had some fun in the capital.

Visited Taiwan, and got the royal treatment from Finn who showed me around.

Visited San Diego in the USA, and Daniel was there for me. The perfect host and tour-guide.

Tammy came in Greece from Japan, tried to take her to the Acropolis, ended up circling the darn building. Talking, never actually managing to get ON the sacred rock -but did we have some fun?

The whole world changes for the best when people are willing to share, talk, listen, help and hang around with you.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Riding motorcycles and quads for the past 20 years, testing them professionally for the last 13...

*Racing quads was great. On and off road.
*Riding 1100km one day on a Moto-Guzzi motorcycle, then another 1100km the next.
*Tire testing in the amazing Askari racetrack.
*Testing Superbikes in incredible world championship race-tracks around the world. Misano, Mugello, Jerez, Valencia, Portimao, etc...
*Climbing the hills around Meteora on enduro bikes.
*Riding fast in some of the most amazing roads in Europe, from Greece to Italy, to Spain, to the UK, to France, to... hey, South Africa and the States -wheelies in San Diego???!!
*Attending the California Superbike School.
*Testing all the new bikes and quads before they even arrive at the vendors.

I also had some painful accidents since I've
..broken my spine on a motocross bike, but was lucky enough to escape paralysis.
...managed to destroy a car (Holywood stuntman style), escaping unhurt (thank God for airbags/belts/5star safety).
... sustained four broken ribs and one dented lung, rewards for a motorcycle-crash while riding in France.
... hitting an old timer who tried to run across the street. We both lived to tell the tale -he was a Hulk of an Old man.

Dancing 8 to 10 hours a day, for 6 consecutive days in the Samothraki Dance Festival, some years ago. Dancing always manages to put me in trance.

Spear-hunting for up to 6 hours at a time, then deciding to stop killing fish (was lousy at it anyway) switching to snorkeling.

Mountaineering for days in Lefka Ori, the White Mountains of Crete, with the bonus of cave-exploration.

Walking the 20km of Samaria Gorge. Again and again.

Travelling to South Korea, South Africa, Malaysia, Taiwan, and the USA, different planets altogether for my European eyes.

Having a drink at the Taormina hotel where part of the film "Big Blue" was filmed, while watching red luminous lava crawling down the Aitna slope...
