About Me
CURRENT MISSION
share the adventure and joys of biketravelling with our children and discover new places and people
ABOUT ME
We are a family of four; we have a 14-yr old daughter, Tessa, and 16-year old son, Caleb. We love traveling and meeting new people (we really do).
PHILOSOPHY
We want to leave the world a better place than it was when we got here, and enjoy ourselves along the way.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
hosting and surfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We have surfed as a family when travelling by bike, first from Montreal to Quebec City and back in the summer of 2009, and then the summer of 2013 we stayed with folks in Austria, Slovakia, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Denmark. We haven't done as much hosting as surfing (Roanoke is an under-rated tourist destination). We value each and every hosting and surfing experience we have had.
Interests
green living, movies, music, books, games (Angela has a particular weakness for Texas Hold'em), politics, learning, cycling and cycle-touring, hiking, camping, cooking

Music, Movies, and Books
Angela and Bradley like indie and international films, dramas, documentaries, comedies. Some favorites, in no particular order: Amelie, Lost in Translation, Juno, The Visitor, Dan in Real Life, Chocolat, Lars and the Real Girl, Little Miss Sunshine, Avatar, the Princess Bride, Winter's Bone, Inception, The Secret in their Eyes. Caleb's 3 favorite movies: Gladiator, Lord of the Rings, the Matrix. In music, we like a lot of diff't rock/pop/alternative. Some (random) things on our MP3 players are: Beth Orton, Lucinda Williams, Coldplay, Bruce Springsteen, Kings of Leon, The Cure, The Killers, Sarah Mclachlan, the Across the Universe soundtrack, Jason Mraz, Jack Johnson, Ingrid Michelson. All four of us love books, but it's the kids who seem to be doing the most reading these days.
Teach, Learn, Share
hmmm.... We know some stuff about frugal living, green living, homeschooling. Caleb knows lots about history, and can talk for hours if he has a willing listener. All four of us are avid learners, and value the chance to learn from our guests and hosts.
