About Me
Hello,
I am a PhD student in the area of communication studies living in Hong Kong at present. However my transition in to the academy was rather rocky, twisted and sometimes inexplicable; starting from work with my dad to cheap fast food restaurants, advertising and newspapers to present. Yet it seems that everything I have done in my life some how converges to the kind of flexible, wild and ever curious lifestyle I've come to cherish as a doctoral student, and the path that now lay before me.
I don't believe in long term goals. Just minimising regrets.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Oh why not.
Primarily to couch surf, with agreeable hosts, as I attend conferences.
Also to meet new people during my travels and hopefully to make new connections. I literally make a living of people's stories, so very much financially and emotionally invested in them. Tell me about yourself and I am all ears.
Also, I'm very much in love with Hong Kong. The people are calm, civilised and educated and respect others above all else. It would be a amazing to find a place that beats that!
And if you don't speak much, simply chilling around works just as well. Action speaks louder than words isn't it?
Interests
Comparing news coming out of different parts of the world, rave parties (occasionally), Irish tin whistle, blogging: https://teandcigarettes.wordpress.com.
Up for a pint any day with a nice conversation.
