Über mich
**I WILL BE UNABLE TO HOST FROM THE 8th OF JUNE TILL THE 24th OF JUNE SO PLEASE DO NOT REQUEST TO STAY WITH ME BETWEEN THESE DATES. IF YOU DO, I WILL HAVE TO DECLINE.**
"Omg so I went to Egypt and we stayed in this awesome hotel and there were like 12 courses for 7 meals each day!" "Thailand is so beautiful, I had the best 7 day spa there!" "Yeah, I was in Germany. I mean, I was at the airport there so yeah, I can say I've been to Germany!" If you've said any of the above sentences, then please don't get in touch with me. Landing in an airport for a few hours does not qualify you as someone who has "visited" that "city". You CANNOT generalize a country by visiting 1 city ("America is so awesome. Like everything is so lively and funky and it's so modern".....*SLAP* AMERICA IS A CONTINENT YOU IDIOT! NORTH OR SOUTH? WHAT CITY ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT??? WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU!) Anyway...you get my point. When I travel, I like doing the "local" route. I like the little cafe tucked in the corner, I like getting dishes I cannot pronounce from the food trucks or stalls in the streets. I like talking to the locals, even if its mostly sign language, I like learning a few basic phrases that say "Hey look, I'm trying to communicate in your language!" and I like people who welcome such people into their homes because travelling and seeing new places should not be just for the rich. I don't think should be a luxury either. To me, travelling is a way of learning, expanding your understanding of the world to more than just you. Travelling helps break away from our egocentric understanding of life.
I have enjoyed family trips, trips with friends, trips with my one and only sister, and solo trips, and I can safely say that I've caught the travel bug! I hope to do more of it now that I'm a CSer.
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
Sleep is necessary for all. Without sleep you cannot function, without a place to sleep, sleep can be very poor and therefore you will function poorly as a result. And if you want someone to guide you around, who better to trust than someone who is accepting travellers? Can you imagine someone like this using a website like this: "Yeah, umm, there's the couch, but shut the f*$^ up and leave me alone. NO DONT ASK ME ANY QUESTIONS!" I believe this is a community that is here to help out one another. And what better way to make great friends. It's an exchange of friendship and a bed for when you come to visit me...wherever I may be :)

Music: I listen to individual songs more so than "artists". Songs that hold a special place: Toto "Africa", Jimi Hendrix "All Along the Watchtower", Bob Dylan "One More Cup of Coffee" and "Don't think Twice", "Motionsick" Watson & Wigmore, Scorpions "Still Loving you" , Motorhead "Ace of Spades", Apocalyptica "Fade to Black", Tchaikovsky "Arabian Dance", Air "Playground Love", M83 "Wait" oh my so many....
Movies: Death Becomes Her, The Mask, Tampopo, Death at a Funeral, Hook, The Fifth Element, Naked Gun, Top Secret, Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulin, Triplettes du Belleville, Tomb Raider, V for Vendetta, Wings of Desire, The Seventh Seal, Murder by Death, Life of Brian, Grease...I'd be happy watching any of these at any time....
Books: *Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (the series)*, The Profit (by Kehlog Allbran), The Hobbit, Side Effects (Woody Allen), Adrian Mole (series), Me Talk Pretty One Day, The Peanuts series, TinTin, Asterix and Obelix...books are tough, I'll enjoy reading them but favourites....hard to compete for that place!
Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
Picked up two poi and started twirling them around like I knew what I was doing and actually succeeded in spinning them around my body, over my head and all that!
Lehren, lernen, teilen
+After travelling to a new place, not once did I regret the price I paid for the ticket.
+No matter what the weather, there's always something enjoyable to do. Make a list of it and carry it with you. That way when you're stuck inside, or outside, you'll make the most of the situation!
+Instead of taking photos all the time, absorb a view and experience it, take 1 or 2 photos that will remind you of your whole experience. Don't waste your time looking at your world through a camera...or phone.
Was ich mit Gastgebern teilen kann
I am very silly! I like doing silly things, accents, voices, I like taking silly photos. I'm very chatty when I want to be (if the person on the other side is being receptive). I know some stuff that you might find interesting and it doesn't take much to make me happy. I'm easy going. I can either tag along or do my own thing...I'm happy either way.
