About Me

Hi! I’m Angie!

I've never truly liked describing myself and I usually prefer people to get to know me and decide for themselves.
Still, I’ll tell you all I can think about at the moment, without boring you to sleep! ;)

I can say proudly I'm a yoga teacher, which I love.
Political Science and International Relations student on a pause, I wish I could say something super cool like I’m a musician or a wildlife photographer.. but honestly, the last time I played the violin was so many years ago that I almost can’t remember how long it’s been. :P

Sharing the same roof, I find myself to be quite easy.. I'm there if you need me but if you are having one of those days when you want to pretend that you are on your own, then you won't even notice me!

I wouldn't define myself as a “morning person” per se.. I actually think I’m a lot more of a night creature.
However, 9 out of 10 times I'll wake up feeling so cheerful and excited to get started with the day, I’ll be hoping to make it contagious! (or be very discreet about it when surrounded by those who just can’t stand “the jolly” so early in the morning ;D )

And though I love traveling, visiting new places, getting to know different cultures, partying and especially meeting new people, I can also be kind of a loner sometimes.
I am quite an independent person, so I eventually need time on my own to unwind.
I love practicing yoga, cooking, listening and dancing to all kinds of music and also find oil painting to be cathartic.. and I really enjoy just driving around when I get the chance.
Some of my other favorite things?(aside from chocolate, of course!) Well, I simply love running! In the mornings, in the afternoon.. it doesn’t matter when! Feeling the wind in my face, my shoes hitting the ground.. priceless! =D

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I heard about this, I just thought it was genius!
I've had the chance to experience something similar with exchange students I met at college. At times, they'd have to change places or wanted to leave the one they where living in and they'd stay in my home for a couple of days or weeks. It was great!
I love traveling, but have done most of it in Argentina.
I've always felt I had to get to know my own homeland well as much as any other place that'd get my interest.
And even though I love Argentina, I've always been the curious kind, excited to get somewhere new.
I believe wherever you go, it's the people living there and being part of it that actually make it whole.
The greatest landscape won't be enough to truly fulfill me if I don't get in touch with the people living surrounded by it.
This is one of the reasons I really enjoy travelling by myself... you get a lot more opportunities to meet new people, the way they live, how they interact as a society and you are a lot more open or exposed to all of it!
I think Couchsurfing would give me the chance to do just that.. take the plunge and submerge myself in the experience!
Of course, as it happens with every other situation when you are about to do that, it is kind of scary.. but worth it!

Interests

Mmm I've mentioned some things already... so, in no particular order: yoga, cooking, reading, hanging out with friends or getting to know total strangers! dancing, listening to music, running... I confess, even dancing while running! (sometimes the song you are listening to just "demands it" :p)
Also painting, driving, partying, travelling, all the things that are different from "my usual".. and I'd said I wouldn't bore you to sleep, so that's it for now!

Music, Movies, and Books

Ecletic would be a good word to define my tastes when it comes to the arts...
Music from classical to heavy metal, with pop, rock, salsa, electro, house and more, all along the way. And yes, I will attempt to (sometimes poorly) dance them all!
The same with movies and books..
I'll go from watching a drama to psy fi, to a comedy or a thriller to a horror movie which will probably make me laugh the loudest!
I LOVE READING! I believe it is just another way to travel.. you can "check-out" from your life for a couple of hours and simpy "check-in" into a different country, society, gender, religion, world, anything!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Get to the top of Wayna Picchu -on a rainy day- while recovering from a recent knee and shoulder injury, and being able to share that experience with one of my closest friends.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A lot, I hope! Tons of life experiences!
I usually teach English to Spanish speakers, but I've had the chance to do the opposite. So I could teach you some Spanish! Or maybe help you improve your english!
I'm a yoga teacher, so we can always have some classes if hosts are interested or curious about it.
I'm a good cook and love sharing that with my friends and co-workers, who will frequently ask me for some guidance in the kitchen. So I can definitely share some recipes!
Everything about my country and my culture you'd like to know!

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Austria, Brazil, Chile, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Peru, Sweden, Turkey, Uruguay
