Lots of my friends have used Couchsurfing and said great things about it! Also, it would be cool to stay with a local instead of at a hostel while I'm travelling, and it would be great to find people to do things with too!

I'm pretty flexible about music - I can like almost everything! My desert island genre is probably the blues, with swing a close second; my favorite band is probably the Beatles, favorite songwriter either Carole King or Leonard Cohen or Otis Redding, favorite of all time definitely Tina Turner.

My favorite movies are animated movies for kids and I'm not ashamed - Disney, Pixar, Ghibli films are the best.

I have too many favorite books, and they're mostly pretty nerdy. Ask me about them in person and I'll give you an endless list.

I can teach some Portuguese, how to play the ukulele and the piano, and things about the many places I've been too and my research.

I'd love to learn more about the city I'm in, as well as improve my Swahili and Afrikaans, and start learning some Arabic and Xhosa!
