About Me
ABOUT ME
As stated, I'm a junior at UNC. I am quite the nerd and love learning about Latin American politics. Still, I also like to be social and go out with friends. I'm convinced I have more awkward moments than anyone on the planet, but I figure it just makes my life more interesting than anyone else's. I love to laugh and be silly, yet also have deep, thought-provoking conversations about life.
PHILOSOPHY
I'm definitely a live-life-to-the-fullest and glass-half-full kinda girl. I'm always smiling or laughing; I feel like life is too short to be spent upset about something trivial. I want to dedicate my life to helping people- my goal is to work for a Human Rights organization in Latin America. Other than that... I just treat others how I want to be treated, and sort of go with the flow!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm new to CS, but definitely hope to become an active member of the community. I love what this site is all about- meeting new people, traveling to new places, and learning new cultures- all for free!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Unfortunately, none as of yet... but my couch is comfortable and for the taking! I also hope to CS some myself soon!
Interests
Latin American politics (particularly human rights and social movements), grabbing meals or going out with friends, meeting new people, walking my dog, hiking, and of course traveling!

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: I like everything from cheesy movies like The Family Stone, to more action-packed films like Taken. Basically, I'm up to watch anything.
Music: My taste in music is also broad. I'm usually listening to light rock, r&b, blues, easy listening, or alternative. I like songs with catchy beats or uplifting lyrics. Still, I like more mainstream songs too.
Books: Lately, all I have time to read is textbooks (not that I'm complaining... I'm such a nerd), but when I have time for a novel I'm likely to pick up something by Jodi Picoult. Favorites also include Catcher in the Rye, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, The Picture of Dorian Gray, and The Giver.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
As I said earlier, my travel experiences are thus far limited. I've been to Mexico, Belize, St. Lucia, Honduras, and Alaska (yeah, I realize its in the US but I still think it's cool), but all only for a day or two at a time as I was traveling on a cruise ship. I hope to broaden my experiences through CS!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm trying to learn Spanish- slowly but surely I'm picking it up, but if you're fluent/proficient and want to help me out, I'd so appreciate it!
Playing the guitar is also something I've always wanted to know how to do. I even have a guitar..just no talent!
