Overview
About Me
I took a gap year after high school to travel to China, live with a Chinese family and explore their language and culture. Now I'm studying in Groningen, which is in the Netherlands, my home country.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because I love to travel and meet people from around the world. I'm really interested in meeting new interesting people and their stories, and I love to experience and explore different cultures.

Music, Movies, and Books
First I'll say that these three categories sum up my life.
Music - alternative, blues, jazz, singer-songwriter, rock, classical. Think Stones, but Beatles; Mozart, but Arctic Monkeys; Ásgeir, but Daft Punk or Stromae, Stevie Wonder, the Punch Brothers, Ben Howard and Pentatonix.
Books - Arthur Conan Doyle (Sherlock Holmes), Jane Austen (Pride and Prejudice), Shakespeare, Alessandro Baricco (Seda), George Orwell (1984), to name some examples. Oh and Harry Potter.
Films - Inception, The Matrix, whatever. The new Beauty and the Beast and other Disney films also have a special kind of magic.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I performed at the North Sea Jazz club in Amsterdam.
Went scuba diving in the cold waters of a Norwegian fjord. :)
Ate pig brains, met cool international people, picked up my boyfriend at Shanghai Pudong Airport and took him to Beijing, baked a delicious apple pie, drove an old Chinese woman in a wheelchair for a couple of kilometers, ate scorpion and danced until the late morning.
Teach, Learn, Share
I could always sing you a song, cook you a Dutch meal or tell you a story. Or teach you some English or Dutch.
I want to know the world, learn Russian, finish my studies. I want to be able to say I did what I loved to do and made something out of it.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I like to cook a little (Dutch, Chinese), talk, exchange views and stories and tell you whatever you want to know about the countries I lived in. Oh I like to sing :)
