Travelling the world with my boyfriend. We've been away from home for over a year now, exploring The Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand and New Zealand. Japan and Europe are next.. Then South America!

I'm a 27 year old girl from Belgium. Graduated studying jewellery design in Antwerp and currently living and working in New Zealand.

I love traveling, meeting new people, exploring new places. I am fascinated by Art and like to see beauty in everything. I would describe myself as an optimistic person. I love cooking, eating, trying out new kinds of food, crazy about seafood. And.. I like to enjoy life.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In the summer of 2014 I traveled to Italy by myself for two weeks and overall the experience was really good! Couchsurfing is a great way to get in contact with local people and see places you'd never dream of seeing as a tourist.

I like reading but I'm a very slow reader.
My name Ayla is the main character from a series of books (the clan of the cave bear) and after constantly having to say that I didn't read the books yet myself now I can finaly say that I have :p and they're quite enjoyable

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I traveled around in Japan for a month in 2009 with a friend and that experience will forever be stuck in my mind and heart.
I loved all the colours, the amazing people I met, the food, the nature.
One day my friend and I were sitting in a cocktail bar in Setagaya and the amazing owner made some 'a-la-minute' cocktail mix that tasted just superb. Then we started chatting and she invited us to join her and some friends on a boat trip the next day. That was one of the best experiences ever! We caught some fresh fish for our lunch, got to ride on a jetski, swam between tiny cute (Jelly) fish, had quite a few beers and saw the Fuji Mountain. This was also the first time I experienced being in the middle of the ocean with no more visible land around. Just pure ocean as far as the eye could reach.

An other super thing I've done is going to Venice with one of my best friends. Again, amazing food!! The most beautiful art everywhere (biennale), met these crazy Italians that broke their boat into puzzle pieces :D they gave us directions to the non-touristy beach which was super beautiful. Here we met some new people in a idyllic pirate build shelter next to the sea and they then invited us to a rock concert on the beach that same evening.
