About Me

IMPORTANT NOTICE: I am on this platform as a person who knows about the REAL SPIRIT of COUCH SURFING! -- What Couch Surfing is about is to help each other out; learn; share and care. THAT'S ALL!!!

I 'm from Troy, with a love for teaching, for classic novels; as well as an enthusiasm and passion for traveling, and fascination of good wine and good coffee. :)

How I spend my free time:
Enjoying coffee in the espresso bar nearby, hanging out with friends around Moda (especially at the bars with interesting animal names such as Elephant), attending theatrical performances (the last one I 've been to was an adaptation of Kafka's Joseph K.) and going to movies, especially festival films.

If I am alone in my place, I prefer to read my novel or watch something cool. I live so close to the Moda shore so sometimes I go there with my portable chair and relax watching the sea view... Other than that, the music I listen to nowadays depends on the circumstances but I like jazz with lyrics a lot, and I can never let go of some of the rock artists such as Bob Dylan... Soulful music is what I really adore.

Funny note: I've loved drinking White Russian since I watched 'The Big Lebowski'. :)

Am I a sociable person? - I care a lot about my friends from my hometown, however I think I have also established lasting friendships here in Istanbul and in Europe .

Do I have a philosophy of life? - I can only say that everything is moving a lot faster than you might think so one needs to build their own path to their personal fulfillment and work for it. Otherwise, you lose sense of what's going on around you...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I tried couch surfing for the first time when I was in Netherlands for a European Union project and I made so many beautiful memories, to say the least. Among the places that I travelled to by couch surfing are; Belgium - Brussels, Spain - Madrid & Volladolid, Italy - Pisa, Pontedera, Lucca, Germany - Weisbaden. I also hosted travellers all around Europe for ex. Spain, Germany, Brussels or Romania. I had to delete my account thus you will not see any of those references but I will share with you some of them very soon. I'm on couch surfing again because I like the community spirit here, we can learn a lot from each other and this experience will make us new each time. I love the philosophy behind this community and I want to show everyone how it is done.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On my first year ever abroad; going to Spain all alone for the first time in my life and doing couch surfing in a flat the hosts of which I had just met. :) (It turned out to be amazing) (I missed the last bus to Madrid but the adventure just began.)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can show you around in my beautiful neighbourhood - the 3rd wave coffee houses and unique bars if you visit me here. I can teach you some Turkish :) I can cook one of my specialty dishes, too and make sure I will arrive at your place with a bottle of red or white wine, carefully selected. :) Other than that, I can offer you my friendship and we will always find a common ground to talk about.
