About Me

Hi my name is Aylin, I live in Germany but am half Turkish and half German.

I'm currently on a backpacking trip with my boyfriend, we spent 7 months in Africa and decided to go to Australia for a few months to work a bit and then travel. After that I will go back to Germany to go to University.

In 2013 I spent 5 months in the US near Portland, OR and went to a High School there as part of a studying abroad program. Probably the best decision that I made so far because when I came back I was a totally different person and I had another family (we're still in touch and I visited them every year since). That's also one of the experiences that taught me living with strangers can be very good for yourself (and for others).

I'm not picky about where to sleep, and although i really appreciate a good meal I'm also not picky about what and where to eat or anything like that. We ate very very basic while in Africa. Trying to keep the budget as low as possible, you know

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

CS seems like a good way to really get to know a new country, it's culture and it's people - something I prefer over jumping from one tourist attraction to another

Interests

I'm super into food and love to try new foods from all over.
Also I like reading, drawing and listening to music; I enjoy vinyl records and I'm open to all kinds of music although I mostly stick to old school hip hop, jazz, soul, grunge and classical music (I play the piano)

And of course travelling is important to me, one of my favorite aspects of travelling is the food but that fell kind of short in Africa because there's pretty much the same thing in all the eastern and southern African countries. Not bad though

Teach, Learn, Share

I might be able to cook some Turkish and African food and if anyone wants to learn German or a little bit of Turkish or french then that's fine :) also my boyfriend is fluent in polish and we travel together. And I like to learn new languages, or cooking etc so that would be good.
And of course we would share some stories of our travels or anything interesting that happened in our lives!
