Overview
About Me
Hey, I'm Aymeric! In short, I am a 22-year-old engineering student, and I wish to travel to discover other countries, people, cultures and ways of thinking... Tadaa!
I think I am rather open-minded and easy-going. I am eager to discover nearly everything (trying to eat insects might be a bit challenging though :p).
Besides that, I love to meet new people and going on an adventure, the crazier the better! ;-)
I like partying and sometimes going to festivals, though I'm rather calm in general and usually I prefer going to a cool bar and talk with friends rather than going to a Club with music so loud that you can't even talk!
But when you can do both it is perfect!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
During the last two years I travelled to Greece, India, Ireland, Italy, Sicilia and around France. It was really great! Right now I am doing an amazing exchange in Germany, and I met quite a lot of other Erasmus students from all over the world!
But I found it somewhat difficult to meet people from the country and that most of the time you stay with other foreigners.
This is actually great to meet other travellers, but I'd really like to discover people's everyday life. I want to "feel the city" rather than just going to museums and touristic sites. ;-)
That's why I want to try Couchsurfing in the East part of Europe during my vacations on March: exchanging with people who actually live in there! :D
Interests
Hmm, where to begin?
As I said before, I love travelling, meeting new people, talking, exchanging views, discovering new things...
I love stories as well, whether it is History with a big "H" or myths, legends, or even "I have a friend who..."
I'm also interested in languages, though I'm not a linguist, and I'd be eager to learn a few words from every language in the world!
I also enjoy landscapes, sunsets and watching the stars, taking pictures, and holding a diary of my travels: every travel has his own diary where I record the adventures of the day! :p

Music, Movies, and Books
Music, I rather listen to Pop/Rock/Electro Music, and I learned to dance Rock (the 4 times version).
I love Celtic music as well, and I listen to nearly everything. There's just Rap I don't usually like, but recently a Brazilian friend of mine made me discover Brazilian Rap and it sounded good. Basically, I'm curious to hear what you like listening to !
I also like singing (mostly in french or english, though I'm not a good singer :p).
Actually I love comparing Disney songs in different languages, it's always funny to talk about it with people from different countries and doing a "street-karaoke" on this ! :p
Books and Films I'll be shorter, though I love reading: I am mostly fond of Sci-Fi or Heroic Fantasy, for example Robbin Hobb, Terry Pratchett, Tolkien, Asimov, Marvel/DC Comics animations... I read and watch other things of course, but I wanna keep it short; let's talk more when we meet!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have quite a lot of travel stories to tell, but I don't know which one is best suited for here !
I'd say singing "Les lacs du Connemara" [The Lakes of Connemara, a french song] in the Connemara.
Or maybe when we were on bicycle on this Irish island West from Galway? We were cycling as fast as we could under the heavy rain to catch the last boat to coast! That was also quite intense !
In a monastery in Greece, speaking sign language with an ageless nun, when she finally gave us some loukoums of hers?
Or maybe getting lost in an Indian market, overcrowded as one can barely imagine ?
I have quite a lot of stories like this, but I don't have one particular amazing thing which I could really pick up and develop at will, sorry !
Teach, Learn, Share
Haha, this part I don't know really what to say!
I can teach Rock dance I guess: as the guy leads the danse, it's not a big deal for the girl as she just has to follow. This far I "taught" within a few hours to real beginners how to danse ; it was really cool.
On the guys side I don't know how proficient I am in teaching, as I never taught a guy how to dance ; but I'd be curious to try ^^
We could also make a kind of language exchange, I can help in French and in English !
This part is a bit redundant with the next one I think, so let's move on !
What I Can Share with Hosts
I could share with you my recipe to make a good chocolate mousse (I love eating chocolate, any kind, anywhere!^^)
I can share travel stories, cook a bit (though it really depends on the ingredients you have !^^). I also have at hand optimism, good humour, fun, and I hope we can share thoughts about the world and the universe! Since I've been to India I really discovered how different conceptions people could have about life and the world, and I'd like to know more about other people's conceptions!
And I nearly forgot.. I love crepes, I can make loads of crepes (once did it for 24 hours in a row with friends!). So with me you can crepe-party, anytime ! :D
