ABOUT ME

I'm married with no children, yet.
I was an exchange student (AFS -- American Field Service) back in 1992/1993 to Dayton, OH, USA and am now a volunteer for AFS Medan Chapter.
I'm open minded and really love learning about other cultures.
My husband and I, along with my cats (5 at the moment), live in a 2-bedroom house.
I leave home for work at 7.15 AM and usually got home at 6 PM, except when work kept me until 8 PM, or when we dine out.
I'm not into sports much... heck, not into physical exercise much for that matter :) I figure all that physical stuff I do by doing household chores along with some at work should be enough .. hehehehe
I'm not much of a cook but like collecting recipes.
Any other stuff you'd like to learn about me, just ask away ok.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I learnt about CS from this guy who answered my Yahoo! question.
CS basically has a similar objective as AFS and I'm all for it.
The world will be a better place if we all have better understanding on others (incl. their culture and needs).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far, I've hosted only twice, each was loaded with valuable experience for my husband and I. I was lucky to gain such experiences.

Interests

I'd like to travel to areas I've read in and watch on the Nat Geo magazines, Nat Geo channel, Discovery, TLC, BBC Knowledge; to see the scenery, smell the air and feel by my hands the sites of the ancient wonders of the world, structures deemed the wonders of the modern world; to interact with the people native of those lands, learn a little bit of their culture, all of which that remind me constantly of how great our Creator is...

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to the works of the Carpenters, ABBA, Gloria Estefan and Linkin Park, and read the works of Agatha Christie, Enid Blyton, and various writers of Mills & Boon :)
I watch Discovery, NGC, TLC and AXN because our local tv stations broadcast mostly gossip shows and stupid soap operas. My favs shows are Top Gear and CSI (LV, NY, Miami).
I'm a fan of animations by Disney & Pixar and I watched sci-fi (Transformers, Matrix, LOTR) and romantic movies (Pride & Prejudice, the Lake House, the Notebook, and If Only) over & over again.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

At 16 I was stunned by the realization that people, no matter what gene-pool they belong to, are basically the same. Our difference really is only a few millimeters deep :)
