Because of the genuine spirit of the original concept couchsurfing started out with. Plain and simple. It may have morphed significantly from its origins, but I believe that spirit is still hanging in there somewhere in the community.

Lightening at night below my eye line, from above the clouds, out of an airplane window. I've never seen anything as visually stunning as that before or since. Looked like spaceships. It took me a good 30 seconds or so to figure out what I was seeing.
