ABOUT ME

I am a registered massage therapist and love my job. I am a horse girl, and love growing things, working with my hands, being outside, in the bush, under the sky. I'm a bit of a traditionalist, I spin and knit my own wool and drive working draft horses. I have no tattoos and am not on facebook and have an old phone. I am equal parts European and Canadian, a multi-local. My flask of rye whiskey is my good friend and I'm little and strong and interested in the insanity that is being human and like talking about it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was lucky in that my first time being a surfer was absolutely top notch. I became part of a fun family for 6 weeks in colorado and I look forward being able to host and surf again.

I like the idea of slow travel, of getting under the skin of a place, of getting personal, of human connection. Of surrogate families and sharing and trading.

Interests

Knitting, felting, photography, slow travel, traditional ways of doing things, textile art, writing, literature, being in the bush, hiking, natural medicine, natural healing, the complexity of the body, becoming ever more balanced and present, heirloom seeds, horses, horse farming, cherishing personal history, ancient history, archaeology, yoga, acro-yoga, fire poi. I love getting snippets of people's lives when they're on my table, in a way I didn't stray too far from archaeology after all.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Breaking through fear is pretty amazing whether it's while climbing on a rock wall, on an exposed mountain peak or crazy horse or just personally, emotionally.
Exercised racehorses.
Being the daughter of a trapper and a fashion designer, learning to walk in the forest of northern bc and then tracking a squirrel through a kindergarten sandbox in an austrian village the next year.
Sailing a 90 foot tallship barge, that is an anarchist theatre ship, from the louisiana cajun bayou to florida.
