My name is Azalea, I am an outgoing and open-minded young girl from China, currently working on a master degree in Durham, the UK.
I love nothing more than learning new things and meeting new people! Before coming to England, I taught Chinese to non-Chinese adults so I have learnt so much about different culture from my students. Being a teacher is an interesting and challenging job that you get along with all students in different ways they like and encourage them to share their ideas. I had a great experience to learn so much about myself and the world from my students.
When I meet a person for 5 minutes we are so surprised having so many common languages, it's like we have been friends for years.
After coming to UK, I experienced more about British culture and travelled a lot in this country.I look forward to traveling in Europe and seeing the culture in different areas.
I try to make people happy and smile as much as I can (although Chinese people are always smiling according to my French friend). I believe that what you think really does manifest itself to the world so I always think positively. I am new on couchsurfing but super excited on meeting new people!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I had an experience on couchsurfing once when I travelled on Xiamen, a nice seaside city in south of China. I booked a room in local people's house but the host did not show up. I was so helpless and have no idea where to find a hotel, the neighbour of my host opened her door and let me stay for I night. I appreciated her help so much and realized that kindness of people is the most precious gift given by god. I haven't try couchsurfing in Europe but really want to meet new people and share happiness with them.

I have a small ensuit room in Durham. If any friend wants to visit I would very like to give my room to you while I can share a bed with my neighbour.
