Présentation
À propos de moi
My name is Azam Afidi Azman. You can call me Azam. I was born in Malaysia but currently doing Bachelor of Arts (Korean major) at University of Queensland, Australia.
I think this might be important to let all couchsurfers know about me. I am a Muslim (Islam). So my dietary requirements are a little bit different since I can only eat Halal food. Another thing is I cannot consume any alcoholic drinks at all due to religious obligation but it does not matter if you want to hang out with me and I can have soft drinks instead.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
Obviously, I love to make new friends around the globe. I am highly interested in learning other cultures and languages. From my perspective, learning about other cultures or travelling to new places can shift my paradigm and shape my way of thinking.
Centres d'intérêt
I also love reading. I read all kinds of books especially self-development, economy, history and psychology. I like outdoor activities. I usually go for trekking, rock climbing or kayaking whenever I have time and money (of course).

Morceaux de musique, films et livres
I listen to any songs and my top preference would be inspiring songs.
For books, my preferences are self-development, economics, financial management & investment, psychology, belief system and psychology.
I enjoy any kind of movies with great messages. One of the subjects that I am doing this semester is about Korean Contemporary Films where we have to watch a movie in a week and write a review about the theme and the ideological message beneath the film.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
While studying here at University of Queensland, I joined a program called UQ Family Mate where they introduced us (international students) with an Australian family. The purpose of that program was to get the students familiar with Australian culture other than improving English. I benefited a lot from that program.
Other than that, through a Malaysian society in Australia, I was given a chance to lead a charity project called 'A Day With Homeless' where we raised funds to provide personal hygiene items for homeless around Brisbane. We managed to collect nearly AUD1,000. The experience was absolutely precious and the feeling of giving a helping hand was indescribable. Such activity taught me the reality of this world and the existence of the needy and how we ought to help them or at least promote our society to restore love and humanity.
Enseignez, apprenez, partagez
I am not bragging myself but I can cook Malaysian food quite well. I am also trying to learn different types of food preferably Western and Korean food. Other than studying 24/7 here in Australia, I volunteered myself several times to cook for Malaysian events which roughly have 150 - 300 attendees.
I can also share about Malaysian cultures, comprising three major races in Malaysia; Malay, Chinese and Indian. I can also teach you a little bit about Malay language.
