Resumen
Sobre mí
CURRENT MISSION
Explore new roads and skies, see what is unearthed in myself from wandering, wondering, traversing new ground, people, conversations. Asking for questions, challenging answers. Trying to love and live as much as possible (while trying to stay balanced).
ABOUT ME
I am a creative writing and aesthetics teacher who values honesty, authenticity, compassion and kindness over all things. I am also a poet, which is to say I am a keen observer of environments, situations, people and nature. I revel in aesthetic and artistic experiences and find beauty in many things, even the macabre. I am equally an introvert and an extrovert; too much time alone or too much time surrounded by people can leave me feeling empty.
I love sharing stories and food and wine. I love to watch skies, particularly when the moon is hanging around.
PHILOSOPHY
"I don't think we have all the words in a single vocabulary to explain what we are or why we are...neither do we have the full range of emotion to feel what someone else is feeling... How can any of us sit in judgment of another human being?"
A human being is a part of a whole, called by us--universe-- a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest... a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty."
-albert einstein
"All you need is love."
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
At the moment, I am looking to couch surf while on a few of my summer journeys.
I do not have the ability to host right now, but I would love to meet folks in town and meet up for conversation and guidance around Denver.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm new and excited to join the community. Some of my favorite humans have given it rave reviews, which means I'm already on board. :) Unfortunately, due to my living situation, I cannot host anyone, but I would be happy to show folks around if it works with my terribly consuming schedule.

Algo increíble que he hecho
I traveled to my father's homeland, Iran, only once about a decade ago, and had the opportunity to meet my century-old grandmother, 'Nana jan'. Adorned in tattoos and still smoking a pipe, I remember her most vividly perched next to a dusty window overlooking the streets of Tehran, where women scurried below in black hijabs, their scarves waving in the wind like surrender flags, as she spoke, or rather, sung the language of my family's tribe, while cooing unintelligible endearments to me and tracing the contours of my hands. Neither of us could understand one another in language, but somehow one of the deepest, most connected exchanges of humanity in my life emerged. Nana jan died a couple of months after that day; it was the first and last time I spent time with her.
Enseña, aprende, comparte
I am a writer and creative writing instructor, so I feel I have a lot to offer in that department, not just in craft but in the introspective, philosophical and healing aspects of the art form.
I also used to be a yoga and creative movement instructor.
I want to learn so many things! Here are a couple: I want to learn how to play various stringed instruments, including the banjo, ukelele, and guitar. I want to learn more about my bike, from maintenance to riding tips. I want to learn how to be a peace without the need to accomplish and do.
And I would love to learn from those engaged in organic farming, sustainable culture and intentional communities.
