About Me

Hi all, coming from Canada but been living in London for just over a year now(read my One Amazing Thing I've Done below). Moved here for work. Meeting new people and having adventures and experiences have helped grow as a global citizen. There is something about meeting people from different cultures. It gives me a different perspective on life and the more I explore, the more I realise how blessed and lucky we are to live and enjoy our lives.

I am quite curious and ask a lot of questions about things I don't know. I used to have "I don't care" attitude but now I focus on learning and expanding my knowledge bank.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I moved to London recently and I really appreciate the diversity this city has to offer. In my first week here I lived with a famous actor. I would have never imagined living with an actor. I am csing to meet with new people and make lifelong memories.

I am a very positive person and I like to inspire people and get inspired by. In my references, people mentioned that I am an openminded and upbeat person mostly that's me mirroring and reflecting their personality. I want to be educated on different cultures, values and thinking styles(perspectives).

Music, Movies, and Books

I am into action, based on true stories, and sci-fi movies but also open to watch movies that have a somewhat futuristic theme like avatar.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In Canada, I had a really nice life with a job and friends and family at a driving distance. I was grateful for that. In Feb 2017, I went to Germany(first time leaving the country) to see a friend and I had a layover in London for a day so I strolled around the city and my first reaction was, "I want to move here".

Five months later, I decided to do it. Over the span of 10 days, I quit my job, moved two places, got my visa, booked my flights, told my family and friends(which no one believed until they saw my car full all my life belongings), packed my suitcase and moved to London. Those 10 days were the most hectic days of my life.

I only told my very close friends about the move and allocated 3 days for them and we partied, ate out, and just chilled together. I still remember my last night with them when they came over to help me move my things and we just goofed around all night. Then sat on the front yard and talked about all the great memories we had and how it was an end of an era. Sun came up and we bro-hugged and went in different directions. 2 months later they all moved to different cities and just like that, after 7 years of friendship, we moved thousands of kilometres apart.

My family thought I was joking when I told them about the move. Everyone was mad at me and thought it was a huge mistake. There was an unusual tension in the house. I spent hours talking to each family member trying to explain my decision. I didn't want to leave without their support and blessings. My family is everything to me and I needed to make sure I gave them the respect they deserve from me. Once they were convinced they helped me pack.

First few months in London, it felt super lonely and I doubted that I made the right move. My health decline, I became distant from my Canadian friends and it was hard to make friends in London. A year forward, I cannot describe how much I love London. The people I met took me on short but life-changing journeys and I made some very special connections, spent quality time with people that will always be a part of my life. I am very proud of going with my gut feelings and making this huge amazing leap of faith to have a fresh new life in London.

Life is full of adventures but you have to take the first step!
