My name is Jet, I live with my sons (11 and 1) in a small house in a town in the north of the Netherlands.

Even though I've lived in a city my entire life, I'm actually more of an outdoorsy person. I eat mostly vegetarian.

I'm a midwife, so my schedule can get pretty crazy. That combined with the kids and the small house makes hosting a challenge at the moment, but please don't hesitate to send a message.

Interests

I love having an active lifestyle: mostly skating, but up for a challenge any time. I enjoy a bit of urban gardening/farming. I have small garden in which I try to grow my own veggies. I have backyard chickens.

In 2011 I founded a roller derby team, who I (technically, though not very active) still skate for and I have been their trainer for 7 years. I've coached the Dutch national men's team for over 5 years.

I am a geek and a gamer.

I am very down to earth, but always open to try new things and learn.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went on this crazy trip called roller derby. I don't think I will ever recover completely.

Travelwise:
I made a train/hitchhiking-trip from the Netherlands to Romania and back again.
And I went to Morocco with a 10 month old baby.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you the basics of skating on quad skates. Maybe we can go skating together?

I could teach you a recipe for cooking a traditional Dutch workingclass meal with red cabbage (a family-recipe).
