About Me

I lived most of my life between Rome, Milan and Bologna, and worked abroad for several short periods while touring with one of the several bands I have been part of during my 20s and early 30s. Eventually I ended up in London, escaping the ever-growing grim reality of nowadays Italy.

I love humour, especially black humour. I joke on most things and in most situation, I really hold nothing sacred. Easily offended people don't like me. It goes without saying the feeling is mutual, but if you like to laugh we'll have a blast.

My goth/rivethead past is still sneaking in the present from time to time, but I manage to keep it suppressed most of the times.

I worked for the past 4 years as online shop and special projects manager for Treadwell's Books, one of the most renowned esoteric bookshops in the world, along still messing up with music production and promotion and helping running the administration of my family's company (boring consulting and financial stuff, I never talk about it).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Most of all I like the idea of traveling without filters like hotels and guides. Staying with local is the real thing, the only proper way to experience a place and a culture.

Interests

Live music, food and wine. I play video games. I am very knowledgeable in the fields of philosophy, anthropology and sociology, especially when you give them an occult spin. You might find the occasional esoteric paraphernalia in my house, but I promise I won't sacrifice you to the Elder Gods.

I don't like sports very much, especially football. I practiced Karate Wado-Ryu for a long period of my life, and for an even longer period I've been away from all physical activities apart from going to the gym, which has become a newfound interest in the past years.

I've been a professional touring musician and DJ for over a decade, so obviously music production, promotion, performance and all that jazz is one of my most defining interest. However I have distanced myself from the circus, because from time to time you just need changes in your life.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: 70's industrial, 80's new wave, 90's alternative & metal, 00's mix of everything. And Classical. A few examples are Pink Floyd, Coil, Einstürzende Neubauten, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Paradise Lost, Tool, Nitzer Ebb, Cabaret Voltaire, Katatonia, The Cranberries, Counting Crows, The Cure, Siouxsie & The Banshees, Metallica, Praga Khan, Ladytron, Metallica,... you got the idea. No hip hop or rap, thanks. And while electronic/dance music has been a huge part of my life, I simply don't listen to it anymore, at least not at home.

Books: well, many. I'm mostly into horror/sci-fi, but also comedy. I love alternate history. You know, the "what if..." stuff. Weird tales make me happy.

Movies: oh, a lot.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I played at Coachella Festival in 2007, co-headlining one of the smaller tents: it was great till the moment we realised Rage Against The Machine started playing their only re-union gig on the mainstage, and being completely drowned by the sound coming from them.

Teach, Learn, Share

Besides the basics you'd expect from an Italian (cooking pasta, risotto, and other things), I can talk you about occult philosophies till you are bored - and I wouldn't surprise if most people would get bored very easily! Or maybe I can teach you the basics of guitar playing, or how to program a synth, or operate a DAW.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I work during the day but I can show people around in the evening (depending on circumstances and if I'm not too tired) and during weekends. I don't sleep much anyway.

I can cook for you some typical Italian dishes. No pizza, though, I don't have a stone oven and without one you just can't make a decent Italian pizza.

Countries I’ve Visited

Countries I’ve Lived In
