About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To break out of the shell that is my life and see as much as I can of what else is out there.

ABOUT ME

I'm awesome?

I never know what to say here. I am in a my late 20s. Spent the last couple years working in the video game industry. That is on hiatus for now so I am taking this chance to get out and see the world.

As far as past times go, I love to read and listen to music which is probably the most generic answer possible. Truth is though that books have been my first love since as long as I can remember and there is something about the way music inspires emotions and memories that fascinates me. I am open to all types of music and am always on the hunt for a new author.

I also like to go hiking and camping though my experience is a bit limited in this department. I plan to fix that why out on this road trip though.

I would describe my personality as very easy going. I'm pretty easy to get along with and am not one to offend or get easily offended. I tend to enjoy sitting back in social situations and observing the crowd. People watching is another great past time.

My sense of humor would be best described as dry mostly self-deprecating with chances of sarcasm. I tend to have a serious expression most the time so people can't always tell if I am joking, sometimes that includes me.

PHILOSOPHY

Making mistakes is normal. It's important to forgive yourself and others when they happen. Learn from it and don't linger on the guilt because that will only bring you down. The important part is that you are always striving towards living a good life.

It is also important to be positive. Your state of mind tends to effect what happens to you. If you are in a positive mood then good things will happen and vice versa.

Music, Movies, and Books

Book: House of Leaves, The Great Gatsby, Ishmael, Everything is Illuminated, Omnivore's Dilemma, Overqualified, SteppenWolf, Cat's Cradle, and I am sure there are many more I am leaving out. These are just the ones in easy viewing from my desk.

Movies: Any thing by Wes Anderson, Reanimator, 500 Days of Summer, Let the Right One in, Most MST3k riffs, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Science of Sleep. My taste tends to run from indie movies to really cheesy horror movies and the occasional musical.

Music: Arcade Fire, Band of Horses, Bell and Sebastian, Broken Bells, Cake Bake Betty, Camera Obscura, Death Cab for Cutie, Iron and Wine, Jaime T, Joy Division, Kate Nash, Morrissey, Neutral Milk Hotel, Portland Cello Project, Rogue Wave, She Wants Revenge, The Shins, Thao, Thievery Corporation, Voxtrot, Wintersleep, The XX.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once rode a sea turtle in the ocean as a child. It was somewhere in Mexico. All I really remember is that the turtle looked old and sad.
