About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I would love to connect with fellow couch surfers! I had an amazing experience during my travels in Europe in 2011. My job keeps me busy but I'm hoping that we can soon host people and show them a little taste of Dallas.

ABOUT ME

Couchsurfing now only makes me pick one place where I'm from. I'm originally from Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, and also spent much of my formative years in Iowa City, IA (USA) and Minneapolis, MN (USA).
I'd like to say that I'm a very friendly person, filled with curiosity. I love to travel and get to know people! I love to tell stories and hear about other people's experiences, beliefs and ways of life. I strive to know learn about and from other people who may be completely different from me. I'm all about immersing myself into a different society and culture. My goal is to create long lasting friendships with the people that cross my path.

I attended the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and graduated with a BA in Political Science and Spanish. In 2010, I joined Teach For America and taught at my placement school for 5 years. I have been involved in other organizations (community and advocacy) that work with issues around educational equity. I currently work in a non-profit and develop first and second year teachers in Dallas/Fort-Worth.

During my travels in Europe in 2011, I met a wonderful man, and we got married Dec.2012. So I have grown even more than acquainted with France, more specifically Alsace. You never know where life takes you and who it puts in your path, but I'm so grateful.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe at the end of the day it's all about respect and treating others the way you want to be treated.
This is how I live my life. I'm all about working really hard all the time to make sure I can make the people around me proud and happy to say they have had the opportunity to know me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

June 18-23,2011: I was hosted in Paris by Faou :)

I have attended CS events in the Twin Cities and hope to do more of that this year in Dallas.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I have been hosted in Paris by Faou and it was a great experience. I learned so much about him and his life in Paris. It truly was a fantastic experience! I also hosted 6 other guests in the Twin Cities and we're looking forward to host others in Dallas in the future!

Interests

I love traveling. I really enjoy reading, not just books but newspapers. I'm all about the news. I'm really interested in international relations and politics.
I love dancing and going to the clubs from time to time, and because I love dancing, I love music :)
I love sports- soccer, football, basketball, and volleyball.
I'm an educator, so I definitely am interested in issues dealing with education.
I like to have fun, go out and watch movies.
