ABOUT US

Hi! We are Azure and Shawn. We are from NW Arkansas, a small, but rapidly growing suburb. We've been married almost 3 years and have fulfilled our lives and our marriage by seeing the world together. On our honeymoon we backpacked through Europe for a month, have backpacked through SE Asia, and we want to continue our adventures for as long as we can!

I (Azure) am a travel nurse and absolutely love my job. Getting to care for people and travel the country is about the best situation I can think of! Shawn is a contract web developer for a company based out of Austin, TX but he works from home.

We love meeting people. Some of our favorite memories from our travels are staying up late into the night talking with other travelers and/or locals. We have found that each person in this world has something to teach us, and we are always willing to listen and learn!

We are easy going, flexible, go-with-the-flow people who like to have a good time either over a few beers at a bar, or a cup of tea at home. Doesn't matter to us!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We're still quite new to Couchsurfing, but every experience we've had has been unforgettable! There's no better situation than to arrive in a new country or city and immediately be in the presence of a local who can give you their best recommendations. Along with that, learning about different cultures and sharing experiences is invaluable and what we love about traveling.

Interests

GET US OUTSIDE!! We love everything outdoors, especially hiking, anything on a body of water, skiing/snowboarding, and sports. We recently got PADI scuba certified and we're hooked!

We love music. Azure loves to sing and Shawn has dabbled in a few guitar lessons, so we're not exactly a traveling music duo, but we love listening to it!

Azure loves to cook and would be happy to cook for you or with you one night!

Music, Movies, and Books

Shawn is a MAJOR bookworm. In his downtime, you will find him reading. He loves anything sci-fi and fantasy. His favorite authors are George RR Martin and Brandon Sanderson. Azure casually reads pretty much anything.

We love movies! Rom coms, dramas, thrillers, you name it!

Music- reggae, alternative, acoustic and a capella are our favorites

What I Can Share with Hosts

We don't usually travel with trinkets or souvenirs to give to our hosts, as we backpack and don't usually have the room. We can share genuine conversation and connection and hopefully teach you something you didn't know! You will always be welcome in our home if you ever decide to visit Arkansas (or wherever we live in the future!)
