CURRENT MISSION
My current mission is to put myself out there and experience what the world has to offer! I would like to make friends from all around the world and truly be a citizen of the world!

ABOUT ME
I'm a 4th year Medical Student studying in Manchester, UK - 1 year away from being a Doctor!
Originally from Sarawak, Malaysia, but my family moved to the United States for 10 years, and have also spent some time as a foreign exchange student in Japan. My family have also hosted a foster brother from Germany for almost a year. I've of course also lived in Sarawak, which is the eastern part of Malaysia in Borneo, and currently in the UK. I love to travel - and after living in 3 different continents, I would rather consider myself a citizen of the world! I am an open minded person and consider myself very respectful toward differences and willing to learn from different cultures and people! I just don't drink or smoke, so parties aren't really my thing. =]

PHILOSOPHY
Treat others the way you would want to be treated. This is probably the golden rule. It teaches of respect, tolerance and kindness.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Having been to medschool, I've been all work and no play. I'm usually shy and quiet, but am learning to start opening up to new people. I've never traveled alone, but am planning to and would love to make new friends all around the world! When I'm working and have my own place, will definitely offer my couch for fellow couchsurfers!

I am hoping to be able to learn more about different cultures and different places from people who know them best. I don't drink or smoke but I'm up for everything else!

Interests

NERD/GEEK
I am a big nerd and a bigger geek - anything fantasy such as Lord of the rings, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, anime etc. I love playing games, better than most people in many games I think hahaha.
All medics are nerds.

LIFESTYLE
I don't drink/smoke but am honestly up for anything fun.
I also enjoy keeping fit. I don't go to the gym but I exercise at home usually. We have a pull up bar and some dumbells and I'm currently following the Insanity program! It's insane!

FOOD
Being a student, I have been forced to cook and have gotten quite good at it. I really enjoy it, though I am terrible at baking.
As a Malaysian, food is very important! Malaysian food is a blend of malay, chinese, indian, arab, thai and indonesian food! Probably more. So my taste buds are used to rich and flavorful tastes.

TRAVEL
When I travel, I find that I particularly enjoy learning about the history and culture of the place as well as it's landscapes and nature.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't really have any particular favorite music/movies/books, it really all depends on my mood.

READING
The books I read these days are usually just medical text books.
I do read comics regularly though, particularly manga.

MOVIES
I am into anything fantasy. I love fantasy so I'm a big fan of Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones. I also like watching anime, all sorts.

MUSIC
I don't have a particularly favourite band or artist as I listen to most things. I love singing though I may not be an amazing singer, I don't think I'm that bad XD.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being a third culture kid - I think it's always amazing to be raised as a minority and it teaches you so much. Both a challenge and a blessing.
I'm also taking on medical school - and almost done! That's pretty amazing, no?

Teach, Learn, Share

I love sharing experiences, stories and am also quite a good cook - I can cook Malaysian food for you! As I am just less than a year away from qualifying as a doctor, I'm competent enough to give free consultations on many conditions, and I know the human anatomy quite well ^^
