ABOUT ME

I'm a Locomotive Engineer for the Canadian Pacific Railway (Train Driver) So being an engineer, i have a very difficult schedule to accomodate Couchsurfers. The trips are 20-24 hours away from home, so i may not always be able to spend an entire day with my guests but i make every effort. Altho many have arrived without anyone here at all!

I love hiking around my area, i'm not very advanced, but will punish myself badly to keep up with better hikers! Living here 35 years gives me the right to call myself a local and i know a lot about the area to tell that you won't find in a City guide!

I Snowboard a lot in the winter, golf, hike, boat & fish in the summer.

PHILOSOPHY

No more hitch hikers please unless Revelstoke is your destination! It didn't bother me much for years, but lately after organizing to be home from work and/or change plans to accommodate a guest and they don't even show up because they couldnt get a ride or got a great ride right on thru town, well... That's not the couchsurf spirit in my opinion. Revelstoke, or better yet, my place should be the destination, not a pit stop :-P (Burned yet again 11/09/08, rule strictly enforced now!)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosted hundres of times now and met probably close to 1000 people thru CS'ing. Although I host canadiens, I prefer to host distant travelers from other countries. It's not often that I get a new country calling anymore, but it's always exciting when I do.

I don't read much, to be honest, i've only read 1 book... 'Sleeping around' a book by an australian couchsurfer writing about his travels around the globe!

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Napali coast hike, scuba diving on the barrier reef (beginner), cruised oahu in 426hp convertable camaro, drove & camped the pacific coast highway, biked san fransisco, Mount Begbie Glacier camping and watching Northern lights for hours on end above my hometown from the top of Mt Begbie!

Trains in north america run on diesel powered electric generators powering electrically driven traction motors... Not coal like many think lol, and oh yeah... Frieght trains are NEVER on time... Another common misconception. Thus I can never know when I'm going to work, or when I'll be home
