About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To invite, share, and grow

ABOUT ME

My migratory mind has settled back into the states for the moment, but I'm concocting plans to get my feet moving again. On my travels I've sat at the table with some amazing minds, crossed paths with some amazingly laid back people, and do-se-doed with some great souls. My goal in life is to keep that trend going!

PHILOSOPHY

Maurice Sendak said that he woke up so that he could enjoy his poplar trees some more. I love the idea of waking up everyday with a new mission, or a continuation of a previous mission. There are bumps and stalls along the way but I want to enjoy the day, take risks, push myself one more notch. And be free to fall on my face because that happens.....a lot, I have big feet.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted only but a few. Bringing me to love the religion of CS. The overall feel is so warm and loving.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Only good ones. Every encounter I've had has been positive. Lot's of trust, and that's something when given to you you want to respect. I've seen that on both ends numerous times!

Interests

Big fan of concerts, speakers vibrating high decibels at my face. Nesting and reading while drinking the blackest of coffee with weather out of a Robert Frost poem is fantastic. Getting lost is fun. Playing music in general is fun, with people, by myself, both have their pro's and con's. I'm interested in poetry slams, in dance party traffic jams, and long dirty camping trips!

Music, Movies, and Books

Tetro by F.F. Coppola is a fantastic film.
The Red Shoes is my favorite movie.
Any Woody Allen film, each one I watch leads me to a new one I've never even heard of!
Monty Python crew!

Blues, dirty blues! Miles Davis, Muddy Waters, John Popper's Project, Jonathan Townes Earle, Etta James, Peggy Lee, Janis Joplin.
Simon and Garfunkel, Cat Stevens, Gracie Slick, Fleetwood Mac, Cole Porter.
The Blue Scholars, Mos Def, T.V. on the Radio, Regina Specktor, Florence + the Machine, The TuNe-YarDs

100 Years of Solitude, On The Road, The Sun Also Rises, Wuthering Heights, The Awakening by Chopin, Scenes from Village Life. I'm a snob for the classics

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I pinch myself every time I remember that I ran with the Bulls.

Teach, Learn, Share

This is Awesome and Brilliant! That being said I'd love to learn more about the Aristotelian style of education, almost Anarchic, self-supporting and versatile! I can teach music theory, good ways and cheap ways to travel Europe, I'd love to learn more about Economics, and also about the history of many first ladies of the U.S., O! and more about Switzerland's Political Structure. Let's exchange.
