About Me

ABOUT ME

I enjoy laughing and exploring the places I visit as much as I can. Disney songs are pretty much constantly stuck in my head, I love to read fantasy fiction but I'm game for nearly anything. I moved to Aalborg in February 2014, and then Copenhagen in January 2020. My Danish is pretty fluent (so I've been told), but I'm still learning :)

I like playing board games, card games, and any other kinds of games, and, while going out to loud and busy clubs isn't really my scene, I am totally game for a drink or two somewhere a little quieter, or even a fun night in. I referee roller derby, which usually means a lot of travel and meeting new people!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I occasionally travel (only occasionally due to money and time restraints), and what is more exciting about traveling than meeting new people? Pretty much nothing, except maybe the food!

Interests

I love to read, knit, cook/bake, and play roller derby. Learning about other cultures and languages is one of my favorite things--I wish I didn't have to rely so heavily on English, because I love talking with people in the language they're comfortable in.

As I mentioned, I referee roller derby! I joined in October 2014, and I have completely fallen in love with the sport. The culture of acceptance is great for me because I was looking for a community of natives while living in a foreign country. Now I get to hang out with a bunch of fantastic native Danish speakers at least 2 times a week!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Moving to Denmark :) Really, though, this move has been one of the coolest things I've ever had the opportunity to do. I love living here, and there are so many great people that I get to meet.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I am a pretty good cook, and while I'm not a fancy chef, I do like making tasty food.

Learn: I'd love to learn/practice a language, or alternatively learn a new game or recipe!

Share: I can share my baked goods (cookies are my specialty) with you!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook, carry on an intelligent, hilarious conversation, play pretty much any game, and make people smile (or at least try).

Countries I’ve Visited
