About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To squeeze as many people as possible onto my couch(es), and exploit them as much as possible, preferably by forcing them to knit garish garments that I can sell at a profit to the nostalgic grand nieces of little old ducks.

ABOUT ME

I like to czech out new places and people and learn their languages (if I can), see (or whatever sense is required) their art, drink the odd beer, climb the odd rock, surf the odd wave, snowboard the odd mountain, sail the odd sea, talk a lot of story, and have people come visit me, too. I'm friendly, and can hold up my end of a conversation. Or a big plank of wood, if that's what is required. Si podemos hablar español, lo prefiero.

PHILOSOPHY

Be as open-minded as possible, try everything, own as few things as possible, learn everything, don't be a dickhead.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participate by having a couch for you to sleep on, and by sleeping on couches, I hope, and generally taking up as little space as possible. Maybe two people can fit on the couch. You know this thing's no longer non-profit, right? Maximum bonus points if you make your request through BeWelcome, instead: http://www.bewelcome.org/members/Albedrio

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A couple, all radical. Couchsurfing restores my faith in humanity. None involving actual water, except when it is used to wake me up. Surprisingly often. Maybe I should choose more expensive, water-damageable couches?
One day soon, it would be nice if I could host a few more people. I'll try living in less of a backwater than normal...

Interests

Couches, traveling, upholstery, surfing, leather, telling and hearing stories, cane, art, hammocks, ideas, wicker, listening to other people's favourite music, granite, drinking some beverages in company, designer, cooking for and being cooked for, retro, things I've never done before, sofa-beds, snowboarding, armchairs, mountains, bare floors, learning to travel ultra-light, bindi-infested backyards.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I walked in the pitch black for so long that my brain began inventing lights that could easily have been ghosts.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm not sure about special skills. I surf a bit, snowboard a bit, play the didjeridu a bit, circular breathe a bit, read a bit, study a bit, try and speak other languages a bit, play chess a bit, cook a bit. I'll share it all.
