ABOUT ME

Hey chaps - English gentleman - jackets, cufflinks, handkerchiefs in top pockets, gin, tea, scones, non-smoker. Developing career as an academic and street musician (the latter financing the former!).
I'm a student at Oxford, originally from London.

I will try anything once and many things twice.

Hell is other people - but in Heaven the interesting people are missing.

Just joined the site so all is work in progress..... Picture is on its way in due course...
Up for meeting anyone in London Will happily help people get their bearings. Bonus: if you can help me improve/acquire any foreign languages (particularly German, French and Lithuanian!). Next on the list are Russian and Estonian (and my Italian needs work).
In addition, as I'm often in Oxford, if anyone wants to come and see that city I'll be more than happy to show them round.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None - a surfing virgin!

Interests

Music - mainly classical (19th century German and Italian in particular); also indie, rock, jazz, and cheese - anything that's fun to dance to (and *that's* not subjective....)
Languages, as you may have gathered, especially the dead ones: Latin, Ancient Greek, Gothic, Sanskrit.
Diseases of language - i.e. literature, mythology and philosophy.
Letters - love both reading and writing them.
Gin, wine, tea - other great beverages.
Cooking and food.
Travel - which is an excuse to learn more languages, write more letters and find more kinds of food and drink.
Androgyny - makeup on men, cravates on women, it's all exciting. Everybody should drag up once in their life.

Languages - could help teach English, German, Latin and Classical Greek - admittedly the last two more specialist/impractical!
