About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Bike tour! Somewhere!

ABOUT ME

My prized possession is a cream colored mug with a brown handle and base, the name Dick written in immaculate black calligraphy across its midriff.

Beyond that, I'm a bicyclist, a writer, and a consumer of books. I'm Brian, and I'd like to meet you.

Music, Movies, and Books

Big fan of David Foster Wallace and Thomas Pynchon, Philip K. Dick, Richard Powers, and a bunch of other writers who I won't mention for now. By far my favorite book is Infinite Jest, with The Crying of Lot 49 being a close-ish second.

I'm also a big fan of early Woody Allen movies like Manhattan and Annie Hall. Generally I like comedies with a serious streak to them above everything else but then again I'm a big fan of most genres when they're done well so take it with a grain.

The Wire and The Simpsons dominate my television interests.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've biked across America, and have been met with almost staggering hospitality at every turn. The most amazing thing I've seen is how beautiful humanity can be.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you the ins and outs of bicycle repair, or how to critique a novel. How to make a mean tuna fish taco, or how to plan a bike tour.

My mind is open to learn whatever you have to share. I want to get better at sewing on a machine and woodworking.

Let's share travel stories over steaming dark coffees.
