About Me

I am a liminal spirit (liminality is the condition of being on a threshold or 'betwixt and between space') in a sun-kissed body with multi-ethnic background. I love navigating through faces and spaces. I love running, stories, and pondering life's biggest questions. I love to cross physical and metaphorical boundaries regardless of the destination and company. I have lived in 6 different cities on 3 different continents before calling Berkeley home. QPOC.

I used to be pretty active on CS and one of my 2020 year resolutions is to return to that.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I hosted a lot of people back in Yemen and made tons of friends. I haven't hosted anyone in a while so I'm looking forward to connecting back with the community.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Managing to maintain a vegan diet to the best of my ability..

Teach, Learn, Share

Simone De Beauvoir, a French author and philosopher, argued that "One is not born, but rather becomes, a woman". That is, gender, just like other different aspects of one's identity (e.g. language, religion…etc) is acquired. This has been a departure point for me in terms of understanding who I am and how I show up in the world. That is, my identity is always in the making with no 'ending' point. This fluid understanding of myself has allowed me to transcend labels, categories, and boundaries always enabling me to dance around systems, worldviews, and social constructs. It's been a super-power!
