ABOUT ME

I'm a really open guy. In school it got me in trouble but in real life it almost always serves me well. I get along with all sorts of people. The only type of person I can't get along with is someone that has no interest in anything beyond their personal stuff. Therefor "living is easy with your eyes closed" is one of my favorite quotes.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can participate by providing my house to people who want to see Bruges or other Flemish cities. I can also promote this site to others and write honest reviews about the couches I've surfed!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've already hosted + 30 guests, surfed at 8 and met many CS'ers and they were all great people. Actually, I learned a lot about my own city by showing them around.
I'll save the stories for when you arrive. :-)

I'm interested in almost everything. From politics to art, and from opera to electro! Since I study European Politics I have a more than average knowledge in Political or Historical facts. I'm also into sports. I go rowing twice a week and on Saturday I play for an amateur football team!

I've visited lots and lots of cool places, but the most special was my trip 2 years ago to the Hardangervida national park in Norway. Me and 5 friends flew from Brussels to Oslo and then hitchhiked 330 km to the entrance of the national park. We brought all our food from Belgium because Norway is really expensive. We lost contact with civilization for 5 days. We fought off thousands and thousands of mosquitoes ( one of those gentle creatures managed to bite me through my jeans!), heavy rain, icy slopes, terrible mist, illness and terrible cold. When the sun went down it was so cold that you couldn't heat up soup with a butane gas heater! One night we had to take refuge in emergency hut because one of my friends got sick and we couldn't see anything due to the mist. But anyways we got back home safely and closer than ever. Amazing experience!

If you look at my traveling experiences, you'll see that I've visited lots of places in Europe. I can share stories about my travels (people tell me that I'm a good story teller!). I can share my views on politics and history from a professional view and also from a personal view. I play a little guitar and can do crazy things with my diabolo (exam period is perfect for such things :-)). If you have a lake and a rowing boat i can teach you how to row :-). I'm also happy to teach you tennis, volleyball or ping pong skills! I also speak 5 languages so I can teach you some cool lines :-)
