Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I mainly host (when living arrangements permit it) and have surfed myself a couple of times.

I got in touch with couchsurfers in my area to try to meet up, but it didn't quite work out.....i shall try again.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I heard about couchsurfing towards the end of my gap year and have been a fan ever since. I have hosted in Cardiff and Buxton and surfed in Yorkshire, UK and New Zealand.

Interests

I like being outdoors - hill walking, playing sport and exploring. I love to dance, watch films and learn new things, particularly about history, space and the nature. I enjoy meeting new people, hearing their stories and generally finding out about their journeys through life. My biggest self indulgence is making my photo albums. I also enjoy poi, calligraphy, drawing and good tv. I'm a Manchester United fan....but I'm allowed to be - the family is from Stretford and I follow tennis..."c'mon Andy"!!

Music, Movies, and Books

I cannot watch enough films....I'm currently working my way through all the '100 greatest films' lists.....nearly there! The 'whats your favorite film?' question is one T just can't answer.

Music wise i'm into anything with a good beat/melody and isn't just noise but particularly rock, reggae, jazz and folk and drum&base/dubstep/house music if I'm out about town for a boogie.

Books wise....I'm not that well read but getting there. I love the wizarding world. 'Memoirs of a Geisha' was a good read, as was 'Jane Eyre' and I'm a fan of Jules Verne.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I played tug-of-war with a young orang-utan!! It was a special moment. I won.

One thing I learned on my gap year.....it's all about the people. You can go to the most amazing places in the world but its the people you meet or share it with that make it worthwhile. since then I have tried to meet as many as possible.
