About Me

CURRENT MISSION

trying to do things for my heart

ABOUT ME

I love to laugh and having the house full of people! I love to have my friends around and getting to know new people and personalities. I sometimes tend to think too much about my life and what's going on around me instead of just letting it go. but so far I feel a lot of happiness in my heart ;)

PHILOSOPHY

I do not exactly know which person ever started the idea of the "perfect" life .... finish school as soon as possible, get a good job, have a intact relationship no later than 26 .... no, I think that is not such a good idea. you have to take care of your feelings and nobody should feel like too soon rushing into something! Take your time and take your time to think about it - if you don't feel like doing it that way stop, turn and try it different. Life is so diverse - you don't have to finish the direction you once started with:)

...even if it feels like it is easier to say than to do! Believe me! I try it too and I have my problems to live that way as well ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

a friend of mine told me about couchsurfing and I am so happy that after a long night out I didn't forget about it ;)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

in summer 07 I decided to go to brazil for a month and ever since I am totally convinced and I see it as my personal aim, that it is necesarry to spread the idea of cs all around 'cause there I learned what couchsurfing can really mean and what an unforgettable experience it can be :):)

I was surfing my friend andrès' couch and he was so, so helpful with my stay in brazil that without him I wouldn't have had such a great and unforgettable time there. At that time I could not really speak portuguese and without him I could not have done so many things I would hate to miss now. he is my example for the success of such an worldwide oppotunity to meet local people and in that case even for developing a cross-national friendship :)

Interests

I love gardening and spent time in nature!! I love our little farm where I grew up although I am not living their at the moment! I just love the space you have and the possibilities to grow your own vegetables!! Taking care of them while seeing them grow :) I love our donkeys and all the other wonderful creature on the farm which lighten up my day!! :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Dave Matthews Band, Ben Harper, O.A.R, Sublime, Jack Johnson, Pearl Jam, Feist, Mason Jennings and even if it doesn`t really fit the other musicians - I do like balkan music a lot:)

I do not watch a lot of tv because I like to spend my time with something else but if it helps you to get a better idea of me I really like the movies from Wes Anderson!! :)

about books I have to say that at the moment I am reading way more travel books than any other literate compositions. I am still stuck between "Nicolas Vanier:L'enfant des neiges" and "Samuel Beckett: Warten auf Godot" :) so I am not sure if that says much about me ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There where actually so many wonderful moments which left me awestruck! To many would be worth mentioning here and I don't want to give one the main credit as they all are wonderful memories :) Travelling in Alaska was great, and seeing a grizzly bear mum with her cubs the first time...also when I was so fortune to travel to the North Pole as I was working on a ship there, the moment when you break through the ice and the wide open ice shield :) Yes, there had been many wonderful moments in my life and I am more than happy to tell you more about them in person :) Would love to hear about your moments which left you awestruck as well :)
