Overview
About Me
I'm a 23 years old vegetarian, mountain lover and animal aficionado from Poznań, a city on the Western side of Poland. I'm a student in linguistics and Scandinavian studies (majoring in Norwegian). I know, it doesn't seem like neither the most popular nor useful linguistic choice, but that's my thing - I adore learning languages and I tend to pick them up for their esthetic qualities. That's why I'm currently learning Norwegian and Icelandic (so difficult, but in progress!), they're just so pretty! Also, I'm a proud owner of a 13 years old dog and even prouder sister of a 7 years old princess, both of whom I consider the cutest creatures on Earth and I can talk about them for hours!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Right now my main goal is to live my life to the fullest, I guess, and figure out who I really want to be in the future. I know, it sounds pretty cheesy, but in order to do that I'd like to gain as many experiences and make as many memories as possible! And there's no better way to do that than by meeting people from all over the world and experiencing cultural clashes! I consider travelling one of the most valuable and definitely the most thrilling thing in my life, I love meeting new people, discovering countries' history, traditions and cuisines. And of course as a linguistic freak, the most exciting thing for me are different languages! Travelling makes me learn a lot, and if I could teach someone else at least one new tiny thing, I'd be more than happy :)
Interests
They change a lot, but some things remain unshakable. Languages are my main field of interest and if I only could, I'd give myself a bigger brain to be able to learn more of them! I'm a vegetarian aspiring to become a vegan (although it is a bit difficult since I love baking) and I'm interested in ecology. I'm really lousy at sports except for one thing - I'm in love with mountains and I never get bored of hiking! I love travelling and reading. Music plays a big role in my life too - I've been singing in a choir for more than ten years, I used to play the piano and currently I'm trying to master the guitar too.

Music, Movies, and Books
You can check out my music taste here http://www.last.fm/user/baaabsii , but for now some of my favourite artists are Arcade Fire, Laura Marling, Tori Amos, Radiohead, Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver, Agnes Obel, Kings of Convenience, Ólafur Arnalds.
When it comes to books, my favourite writers are Vladimir Nabokov, John Irving and John Steinbeck, but my favourite book is "Pygmalion" by George Bernard Shaw! Oh and Tolkien, I have a soft spot for him.
Movie - "The clockwork orange", no doubt!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Maybe hiking to the top of Norway, Galdhøpiggen? Also, that's probably not cool at all, but I can sing soundrack from "Frozen" in 6 languages!:D
Teach, Learn, Share
I want to learn from others as much as I can and teach them as much as I can, because interaction with people is the best form of education! Also, I'd be more than happy to teach you some basics of Polish or learn a bit of your language :) I can always bake something for you too! :)
